Confession: I love getting the mail. Ever since I was a little kid I would beg my mom to let me race down the driveway to see what the box was filled with. More often than not it was bills and nothing that interesting to a child, but the days when an American Girl catalog or a postcard from my grandparents came…jackpot. To this day, I still get excited to see packages on my doorstep. Being a food blogger, I’ve had the chance to review some really cool sample boxes, and last week I got my first Babbleboxx.
Here’s how Babbleboxx works. Brands reach out to to Babblebox, who then curates a themed box. They then send the boxes to influencers who help get the word out on these brands.
I received the Women’s Health Checklist box. Here’s what was inside!
First up, the food. Because why wouldn’t I start with food? I can’t tell you the last time I had a frozen meal, but these new Healthy Choice Power Bowls are worth a try. They’re a healthy combination of vegetables, proteins, and whole grains for those with an active lifestyle. The bowls varieties are that of Korean, Cuban, and Latin Cuisines with bold flavors, delicious flavors. Each has over 16g of protein and 6-8g of fiber.
The most exciting thing in this box — for me, anyway — was a 23 And Me test. The test uses your DNA to educate you about your ancestral origins. All you have to do is provide a saliva sample, mail back the kit, and wait for your results.
I have always been curious about my background. Given that I have family from all around, I really just consider myself a mutt — but primarily Italian and Irish. But who really knows! I’ve already sent my sample in and hope to do a full review of this kit in about 6-8 weeks. I cannot wait to see if I’m actually…Russian. JK. Maybe? PS: Use the link above for $20 off your kit!
Next up, a tube of Arm & Hammer Peroxicare toothpaste. This toothpaste helps keeps gums healthy by cleaning along the gum line and between the teeth.
The fourth product in the box was a Mio SLICE Heart Rate + Activity Tracker. It uses PAI, a scientifically-validated metric based on heart rate that tells you how much activity you need to live a longer, healthier life. The ideal goal is to maintain a PAI score of 100 or more over a rolling 7 days, and you can do this with all types of activity, like biking, rowing, and fitness classes. PAI is calculated based on age, gender, resting heart rate and maximum heart rate.
I love that this box was packed with some really great items, most of which I had never heard of before! It was definitely a great way for me to kickstart my fitness goals for spring!
Have you ever used a DNA/ancestry test kit? I’m soooo curious to get my results!
