Thursday Tidbits

I’m glad you like yesterday’s post on foods that taste so much better than skinny feels. It’s important to occasionally take a break from healthy eating/dieting and indulge in your favorite treat. Enjoy your life and treat yourself!

You know those crazy stick figure family decals on the back of cars? I see them all the time. I try not to judge–God knows how I’ll behave when I have a family–but they sure do make me chuckle. In the parking lot the other day, I spotted a Patriots family! At first I was like, “ok, that’s acceptable stick figure behavior.”

But as I got closer to I realized Mom and dog are Giants fans! I had to laugh that the kids clearly took Dad’s side and are rooting for the right team. Unleeeesssss…Mom is a stepmom? Or actually the nanny? So many possibilities here.

I’ve always said that my zodiac sign’s traits are a pretty accurate depiction of my personality. Then I saw this mug at The Christmas Tree Shop and seriously wanted to be born under a different sign.

Overemotional, moody, and touchy?! I mean…is that not every woman on the planet?! They nailed it on “protective” though. 100%.

I tried another restaurant that I’ve had bookmarked since last summer. Life Alive is a vegetarian cafe in Lowell that aims to nourish and energize their patrons with delicious, organic food.  The menu is full of smoothies, juices, soups, salads, wraps, and bowls. It’s super colorful inside, just like the food they serve.

But what really took me by surprise was their pee facility. HELLO zen bathroom! I snapped a minimum of 5 pics. How could I not?!

Speaking of visual stimulation, I realized I had not gotten an eye exam in almost three years. I broke my glasses a couple months ago–they got caught between my pocket and a Trader Joe’s grocery cart, I kid you not–so it was time to visit the optometrist. After the exam, I walked over to the glasses, saw a pair, and said “These are the ones.” JUST LIKE THAT. I hope that happens when I pick out my wedding dress. icon wink Thursday Tidbits For funsies, I tried on like 20 other pairs. After narrowing it down to two, I still knew I had initially made the right decision. But first, which pair do you guys like better?

I could get lost in The Christmas Tree Shop FOR DAYS!
I like both of those pairs of glasses… that’s my favorite style. Every pair I’ve ever owned has been like those. I think my favorite is the one on the left though for some reason.

omg i know, that store is way too fun. and the snack section always kills me. like one of everything please…but hopefully they’re not all stale hahaha.

  • Karen @ Runner Girl Eats

I have never even heard of the Christmas Tree Shop but if they have super awesome mugs like that, I should probably learn more. I am also intrigued by stick figures on cars. And by intrigued I mean really kind of creeped out by them.

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

oh it’s wonderful!! they have everything! except clothes. but that’s probably a good thing. ahahhaha yes creeped out is definitely what you (and i) mean

  • itzyskitchen

Glad you’ve been exploring and enjoying your new/old home! I like both pairs of glasses!

  • Chelsea’s Healthy Kitchen

I actually bookmarked that cafe to try when I was in Boston a few summers ago, but it was way too far away from the hotel so we never made it there. Looks good though!

Wait are those the same pair of glasses? Are you trying to trick us? ;) They look great on you, but they look the same to me!

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

it is far out! but you would loooooove it!

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

      hahah seriously

  • Biana Perez

Love both glasses options and they both look great on you – I like the left, but really like the right too! That bathroom in Life Alive looks intense – I’m not sure I’d be able to properly focus on the task at hand lol!

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

hahah i laughed so hard at that comment. yeah i was about to pee my pants but when i walked in was so stunned i forgot. i’m surprised i didn’t actually pee my pants.

  • Sheanna Caban

I would be afraid there was wildlife in that bathroom. Imagine…You’re peeing and all of a sudden, a squirrel comes darting out! I think I like the second pair of glasses better on you. The nose bridge is more delicate.

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

hahaha i never thought of that. how funny would that be.

  • Tara G

The glasses are cute, I like the ones on the left, but they are very similar! OMG, that bathroom is gorgeous, but I would be looking around for bugs! Last think I want while on the hopper is a bug crawling towards me, eeek!
OMG, I havent been to the CTS in forever-my husband refuses to go near it, haa!

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

so funny, sheanna (commenter above you) said pretty much the same thing. imagine!

  • klutz in high heels

ohh good old CTS. love that store. i got there usually every weekend, for what?! i have no idea but i always walk out of there with some knick knack!!! i like the glasses on the left, even though they really are so simliar!

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

so much fun, right? and yeah…once you stop in you’re bound to find someeeething. something totally unnecessary. i left with just one thing last time: a cutting board. hahaha

  • Auntie Kelly

This morning I saw the family stickers on the back of a car and they were rifles. Got to love the south!

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

      oh wow, that’s bad!

  • http://meetatthebarre.blogspot.com/ Amanda Elizabeth

I miss the Christmas Tree shop I wish there was one down by me! That is my sign Cancer July 5th….100% truth. Secret…that’s how I was with my dress ;-)

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

you’re only 5 days after me!!! i’m june 30! seriously we did miss our roommate calling! haha

  • Kristen Warren

the stick selfies – hilarious! the funniest i have seen is a man behind a bent over woman.. and it says something like ‘how i make my family’ – so crass, but hilarious.

  • Shelby Hanchey

You know what those stupid family stickers are great for though? April Fool’s Day hah. Trey made it from Johns Island to Muddy Waters before finding about 15 assorted people and animals lined up on his back bumper. I want that jungle bathroom in my house asap! What else are tubs good for?

    • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

ahhahahahaha that IS a great April Fool’s joke! wow!

  • http://www.confessionsofachocoholic.com/ Bianca Garcia

I go to the Life Alive in Cambridge and I’m slightly obsessed with their smoothies. I like the glasses on the right :)

  • Brittany Greer

The title of these posts makes me want a doughnut!! Ugh! I always think of Tim Horton’s “timbits” when I see tidbits. Anywho, cute glasses! Both very similar and either you chose is a good choice.
