1. Reading: Thanks to my bloggy friend Heather, I discovered Oyster, a subscription-based reading app. For just $15 a month, Oyster gives you access to a collection of over 500,000 books. There are thousands of bestsellers and classics to choose from. You can also connect w/ friends and see what they’re currently reading and recommending. If you sign up using my link, we both get a $15 credit. I love reading on my Ipad at night so I’ve been very happy with this service. In just a week, I read 3 books. The first that I recommend is Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver.
Description: For popular high school senior Samantha Kingston, February 12—”Cupid Day”—should be one big party, a day of valentines and roses and the privileges that come with being at the top of the social pyramid. And it is…until she dies in a terrible accident that night. However, she still wakes up the next morning. In fact, Sam lives the last day of her life seven times, until she realizes that by making even the slightest changes, she may hold more power than she ever imagined.
If you sign up for Oyster, add me as a friend!
2. Listening: New favorite: Stay High (Habits remix) by Tove Lo and Hippie Sabotage.
3. Eating: Third time’s a charm seemed to be true for Sweetgreen. After two visits that were just so so, I gave the chain another chance at their Chestnut Hill location. The July special was much better than the salads from my previous visits.
organic baby spinach + shredded kale with local roasted vegetables (zucchini, yellow squash, corn, radishes), roasted chicken, organic carrots, organic basil and toasted parmesan crisps; topped with pesto vinaigrette.
4. Bookmarking: Snap Pea, Watermelon, and Edamame Salad with Sesame Vinaigrette from Joy The Baker. I can’t even imagine what this flavor combo would be like, but I can only hope it’s delicious.
