Beautycounter Jet Set Collection Giveaway ($118 Value!)

As I mentioned last week, I’m thrilled to have become a Beautycounter consultant. Though it’s not something I ever saw myself doing, this blog has been my space to share things I want people to know about and I truly love this company’s mission. And that’s to get safe products into the hands of everyone. The other thing I get so excited about is hearing from blog readers who are looking for advice on makeup options and which products I recommend the most. I’ve always enjoyed sharing what I love with you guys, but something about this has been so rewarding. So thank you for letting me help you!!  If you are at all conscientious about what you put on your skin or in your body, you need to take a look at what they have to offer. The head-to-toe skincare line has something for everyone – adults, kids, and babies.

Before I left for St. Thomas I picked up the Jet Set Collection. It’s a perfect starter/gift set for anyone interested in the products. Well, it was. Sadly it’s unavailable now….BUT! I have one to give away. I bought a second with the intention of giving it away on my blog so that a lucky someone could see exactly why I love these products. They’re sooooo so good! Read my review of all the products here.

In the beautiful red box is the Daily Shampoo, Daily Conditioner, Body Wash, Charcoal Bar, Body Lotion, and the cutest bag to carry it all in. My favorite out of these is the Body Lotion and the Body Wash. The scent alone is mmmm yum and the fragrance comes only from essential oils. I look forward to using them every day.

The bag fits a lot. When I had it on vacation, I filled it with twice as many products as above. And of course being travel friendly…you can toss in some mini vodka bottles. Or m&m’s. Whatever you fancy. 😉

Beautycounter Jet Set Collection Giveaway

Before you enter the giveaway, just know I’m always available to answer any questions about products or give advice on makeup colors (so fun.) I’ve tried a lot of the products in the past couple months, mostly because once you fall in love with one…there’s two…then you’re just obsessed and have the whole collection. HA. All I need is a fellow Beautycounter lover in Boston so we can share goodies. Holler if you’re near me!

So now…for a chance to win the Jet Set Collection, enter here! Good luck!!!!

Nordstrom Mascara Madness Sale: The Best Day of the Year!

The Nordstrom Mascara Madness Sale is like a holiday to me. I swear. Mascara Madness happens twice a year (March and November) and it’s when I stock up on my favorite makeup product ever.  Buy 3 mascaras, get 1 free. That will likely last you 4+ months…and then you can stock up again in March. And bonus: when you place an order with Nordstrom, you get to select samples at checkout. And they’re always good ones.

Here are the mascaras I usually choose from:

MAC Haute & Naughty – Like I mentioned in this post, this mascara is my all-time favorite. It gives you the fullest, most dramatic lashes. And yes, it comes off easily with regular face wash — a major requirement for me.

MAC Zoom Lash – This will give you a softer, more angelic look, but crazy long lashes.

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Lash – This is my second favorite. It gives you crazy length and definition, just a little less drama than Haute & Naughty. It doesn’t build as well as H&N but it is still a “wow” look.

Urban Decay Perversion – Lots of volume here. Lots of drama. Goes on really well with a huge brush.

Dior Diorshow – This is a classic. Ladies love this. Aside from the hefty price tag, it’s a great overall mascara. My only gripe about this one is that you have to use it pretty quickly as it tends to dry up. Worth the splurge at least once to see if you like it.

I love all of these, but if I had to choose one…I’m sure you know by now, go with MAC’s Haute & Naughty. It does wonderful things!Nordstrom Mascara Madness Sale Dior MAC Urban Decay

Splurge or Save: My Favorite Beauty Products

Let’s talk makeup. Do you splurge or do you save? Or a little of both? I’m all over the place with what I wear, but I have favorites in both the splurge and save categories.Splurge or Save: My Favorite Beauty Products

Splurge: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 Hour Long Wear Foundation. This is one solid foundation. Does it last 24 hours? Ehh…but honestly, it does last a long damn time. Even on days I forget to take my makeup off (the horror), I can still see some of it in the morning. Overall, I love this foundation because it goes on smoothly, does not cake, and looks very natural despite being full coverage. For reference, I wear 260 N or 250 Bisque W.

Save: L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup. This foundation is also full coverage but is a bit thinner. Try to only use a couple of squirts or you’ll end up looking like you have makeup on. This is a great alternative and they have a ton of shades to choose from.

Splurge: Marc Jacobs BeautyUnder(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer – Oh my gosh, this feels and smells so lovely. It isn’t cheap, but it does the job well. It’s very moisturizing which I like in the colder temps.

Save: e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer – It primes like it says it does. Nothing thrilling about this, but if you need a quick option, this one works at a very fair price. Just don’t buy the green one; it smells like a cleaning product.

Splurge: MAC Powder Blush in Pinch Me – This is the prettiest color and I think it would look great on a lot of skin tones. I wear this in both the summer and winter and it’s always very flattering. What I love most about MAC’s powders is that they stay put. No looking like a clown if you accidentally rub your face!

Save: Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso. This one is hard to find so I get it on Amazon. The Luminoso color is very pigmented with a bit of shimmer, so if you use this you won’t need a highlighter. It has peach undertones but like the MAC blush, I think it would be flattering on most people.

Lip gloss

Splurge: Anastasia Beverly HillsLip Gloss in Metallic Rose. This may look like a plum color, but it’s not as dark as it appears here. The website says it’s a “shimmery dusty rose” but what does that even mean? Just trust me on this one; it’s a beautiful shade. I used to switch up my glosses every day but this one goes on my lips more days than not.

Save: NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sponge Cake. Hello, the name alone makes me want it! I like NYX glosses because the texture is just wonderful. Not sticky, just smooth. They definitely rival MAC lip glosses and come in a very similar tube…for a heck of a lot cheaper.

Splurge: MAC Haute & Naughty Lash. Out of everything on this list, this mascara is by far my favorite. If I could only wear one item I’ve told you about so far, it would be this. Promise!! It is amazing. It will take your lashes to another level. Maybe 2.

Save: L’Oreal Voluminous Original Mascara. I think this is a favorite for a lot of people. It’s been around a while and there’s a reason why. It gives you la la lashes. Very full. That brush can pack a ton of mascara onto your lashes with just a couple swipes. My only gripe about this mascara is that it can be hard to take off. Otherwise, it’s so worth the $5 price tag.

Where do you splurge and where do you save?
