Little Tidbits

1. Since high school, Nancy and I have been obsessed with big, bug-eyed sunglasses. I have this weird issue with wanting my eyebrows to be covered, and my Wayfarers do not even come close. I got tired of them and scooped up a fabulous (and cheap) pair from Old Navy.

2. I’m out and about a lot for work, so finding a healthy lunch can sometimes be difficult. I’m trying to map out some good spots and have found that Au Bon Pain has some good healthy items. They have a build-your-own salad bar option that works well. Last week I had a salad of Southwestern chicken, avocado, kalamata olives, chickpeas, feta, and romaine with a lemon vinaigrette. Works for me!

3. Last week my uncle gave me tickets to a charity basketball game that the Patriots played in. Though they’re football players, they were amazing to watch play a different sport. The reaction time on some of these guys blows my mind! It was pretty neat to see them way closer than on the field at Gillette too. In the game were Arrington, McCourty, Hooman, Dennard, Collins, and a couple other old players.

We sat just a few rows behind them! My cousins got their autographs and said they were all really nice guys. Hooman is much cuter in real life.

McCourty eating peanut M&Ms on the court made my evening.

4. Since my half marathon last January, I really don’t run much anymore. It had been six months since my last recorded outdoor run (I use the treadmill every now and then), and I was way overdue. On a nice day last week, I set out for a quick 3 miler.nike plus run

My only goal was to run sub 8 minute miles, and I’m relieved I’ve still got it!

6. I better keep up with the runs because it certainly helps me balance out the unhealthy eating I do on the weekends. Sometimes you’ve just gotta indulge…and when I do, I really do. My chilldhood best friend Jessica and I checked out Boston Burger Company after hearing it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. We started with fried pickles–my first in Boston!

My burger was topped with avocado, roasted peppers, marinated tomatoes, mixed field greens, and balsamic vinaigrette. It was good!

SO cool that you got to see the pats play basketball!! I haven’t been to au bon pain in forever, my Mom and I used to eat there every time we went to the mall.

  • love those sunglasses!!

  • I love Au Bon Pain! Haven’t gotten to eat there too often. But it was the ONLY really healthy option for a quick meal on campus besides the dining halls when they finally got one on my college campus my last year there. I enjoyed it while I had it! And fried pickles. Goodness, don’t get me started. But I actually made a healthy version of them at home when I baked them! The recipe is on my blog if you wanna check it out. Here you go. 🙂 Fried pickles are awesome.

  • I loooove build your own salad bars… there’s a place right by our apartment that has it – I was a tad obsessed with them for a while! haha

  • When I travel for work, I often do Au Bon Pain since it is in the office building I’m typically at. Build your own salad and a sparkling water every time. For breakfast, the oatmeal bar is awesome.

I am the exact same with sunglasses – They need to cover my eyebrows… but since I have a very round face I always end up looking like a bug – ALWAYS. I did recently drift out of my comfort zone and bought a pair of funky coloured glasses, but I resist any pictures taken of my exposed Persian eyebrows!
Go to foods on the go: cooked veggies, maybe some fish, or tomato mozzarella 🙂

GIANT SUNGLASSESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Have you seen the pics of me in my new Tory Burch’s? hahaha XOXO

Thats an awesome pace! Esp for not running much. That basketball game seems like so much fun! It’s incredible how athletic they are are sports other than their own.

  • Amy

Cute glasses! I just read in a magazine that you’re not supposed to cover your eyebrows with your glasses! Ha! What do they know? 😉

  • Megan Butler

well. they don’t call me Burger Butler for nothing. There’s a new place in worcester called the FIX. WICKED good… Good enough to suffer through a run or bike to have one 😉

  • Chelsea’s Healthy Kitchen

I love checking restaurants that have been on Triple D! I’ll have to add that place to my list next time I’m in Boston. I had the most incredible burger recently topped with avocado, harvarti cheese, and caramelized onions – definitely my new favourite!

  • That burger looks amazing! I love mine topped with avocado- so good. The basketball game looks so fun!

I love the lipstick color on you!! So pretty! I totally agree with APB – they have the best salads!!

  • Shelby Hanchey

Cute shades! You should have hollered at the bball guy. Next time? Love pimento cheese on top of my burgers!

  • Brittany Greer

Girl, you cray! Sub 8 min miles after not running for 6 months? I’d say you’re doing alright. I don’t think I’ve ever run sub 8 for one mile. I love your sunglasses and desperately need new ones. I didn’t even think of Old Navy! I’m going to look there. Glad to see life is good in Boston, but we miss you here!

Yummm fried pickles are one of my weaknesses! Those look amazing!

  • I love the lipstick! It looks great on you. I love pinks and nudes. I tried to wear red the other day and it looked awful on me. 🙁

  • I’m the exact same way about sunglasses, I thought I was the only one! I won’t even consider sunglasses unless I know they will cover my eyebrows. Target seems to always have the best ones!
