Life Lately

Life has been great lately. Really great. I’ve been so busy I have a constant headache behind my eyes (where are my glasses?!) but I’m happy. On Thursday I’m taking the day off from ALL work and making it a me day. I plan on getting my hair cut and my brows threaded, going to the acupuncturist, going to kickboxing class, and having dinner out. It’s going to be GREAT.

Lately…

Since Thanksgiving I’ve made an effort to cut out all foods with added sugars. It’s really, really hard. Sugar is in everything! Sugar goes by so many sneaky names! Each day I’ve had about 7-15g of added sugar total from something little, like salad dressing or my Siggi’s yogurt. *Note: I do not count naturally occurring sugars, like fructose in fruit and lactose in dairy. Typical breakfast this week: 2 poached eggs + avocado + satsuma.poached eggs avocado satsuma

But before all that craziness, I managed to make some brownies for Thanksgiving. The cousins ate them right up! I’ll post the recipe next week. They’ve got coffee and crisp cereal in them!gluten free dark chocolate crispy rice coffee brownies

Lindsay and I managed to make it out again for drinks. I love having another Charleston girl here. We get to talk about how freezing cold it is and how the men must be hibernating because we sure as heck aren’t meeting them. boston bar forum massachusetts martini moscow mules

Speaking of cold weather, I was having a heck of a time finding a cute hat & gloves. Thank you, Old Navy, for having ridiculously cheap winter wear. If I have to wear warm clothes, I need them to be as fun as possible.old navy winter weather wear

Even more fun are my New Balance Static 574s. I wear them all the time. This morning a guy behind me in line at Dunkin said “Those sneakers are really awesome.” I told him his face was really awesome. That went well.new balance 574

Last night I went into the /superdigital office for a work meeting. Never in my life did I think I’d be asked to help contribute ideas for a social media campaign with Julian Edelman, Tom Brady, and Dunkin Donuts. Next time I complain about being busy, SLAP ME.

(The JE11 beanie above will be on sale next week!)

Yep, the ad agency I work for also manages Julian Edelman’s social media. Needless to say the office is full of JE11 swag. This does not hurt to look at.

See you tomorrow with The Friday Five! <3

It’s SO GOOD to hear that you’re happy! In January I’m starting The Whole 30. This decision didn’t come lightly for me and it has NOTHING to do with weight. It has everything to do with how I feel….And lately I’ve felt awful. I’m actually starting off slowly right now, but plan to go full force come January 1 (I would have started in December, but too many family things going on that could send me off track before I get started). Working for the digital ad agency sounds like a dream job! VERY proud of you!
