A couple of weekends ago I ran into a couple of guys from Charleston (in Boston!) and they all had sun burns. Here I am still pasty white and when I saw them I almost cried. Ok, maybe it was the beers I had shortly before the run in, but I did miss Charleston’s weather for a second. The heat waves have not started here yet (will they ever?), so I’m having to enjoy the little things that remind me of summer. Like lobster rolls.
That lobster roll is from Kimball Farm where I grew up eating gigantic ice cream cones and had many birthday parties with friends. I like their lobster rolls because they’re filled with a ton of meat (both crab and claw) and have very little mayo and just a bit of celery and seasonings. Trust me when I say I will try all the fancier lobster rolls this summer.
One of my work events last weekend was Fenwayoga, put on by the Red Sox Foundation. Participants came for yoga and meditation along the warning track at Fenway Park. I was in the expo area but managed to sneak out onto the field to watch the yogis for a bit. Seeing the park on a gorgeous day was a sight!
The fashion in Boston is quite different than in Charleston and, at times, I feel like I’m dressed like a rainbow compared to people I pass on the streets. Oh well. I love my neons and I’m not letting them go! Yesterday I got the new Angel by Victoria’s Secret Sports Bra in an Influenster Voxbox.
This brassiere is soooooo comfortable and comes in some really fun shades. It’s got a good amount of padding, a gentle underwire, and nice stretchy straps. I love it! And so does my idol, Doutzen Kroes. You can buy it online here — on sale for $29.99!
Along with sprucing up my summer wardrobe, I’m also adding lots of summer veggies to my meals. The New Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone is a great cookbook for those interested in learning how to cook creative, healthy meals out of vegetables. It features over 1600 recipes! That’s a vegetarian’s bible if you ask me.
Have a good one, friends!
