Depending on where you live, bikini season either has already started or it’s right around the corner. Are you ready? I’ve got a playlist and a workout for you to get your butt in gear.

First, music. Those of you who’ve read my blog for a while/are from Charleston know that I loved Trio. Remember that dirty club you’d only go to late night? And if you had a rough night, you’d refer to it as a “Trio night” because you clearly partied too hard? Oh, I miss that place. Why, you ask? THE DJ, obviously. This girl loves to dance, and DJ Rehab knew just what to play to get my booty shaking. Besides being an awesome DJ, Chris is a really cool guy with great taste in music. He saw my last Spotify playlist and offered to create a workout mix out of it. For you, for me, for all of us! Check it out here or press play below.

Download the soundcloud app on your phone and get to the gym. The playlist is 51 minutes — just enough for a solid workout. Need an idea of what you can do while listening? Try this:

Let me know if you love the playlist or complete the workout. :)

1. Before TJ and I went to the beach on Friday, I asked him if he wanted me to bring anything. “No beets” was his response. Seriously, really, is this what people think I’d do?

2. That evening when I was taking out the trash, I spilled beet juice on the passenger seat in my car. Beet juice on tan cloth. Lookin’ real good. I guess the above confession isn’t that crazy.

3. I put tequila in my Chick-fil-A lemonade to bring to the pool. Chick-fil-A and tequila…I felt like I was doing something really wrong.

4. I really wanted to answer this text with “And you’re the guy with terrible grammar?” SMH. Calling me adorable will not make up for the fact that you don’t know the difference between your and you’re.

5. One of my friends convinced me to download the Tinder app. If you don’t yet know what it is, look it up. My guy friends and I have been playing on it nonstop. On Saturday, two of the guys ran into a girl with whom they had both been matched…yet they didn’t know it until they both went up to talk to her at the same time. It was the greatest awkward thing to watch.

6. I taught the abs portion of a fitness class on Saturday. My part was only 3 minutes long but I felt like a superstar with a microphone on my head. Can you tell I have no problem with being the center of attention? :O

7. The only two things I regret from college are: 1)being in a relationship the entire time and 2)not joining a sorority. I wonder if my Grandma is sad I didn’t carry on the ADPi legacy.

8. Our apartment is a mess but I have no desire to clean it because Boding won’t be home until 9 pm. I guarantee that at 8:50 I am going to jump off the couch, put on some Alesso, and clean like a maniac for ten minutes. Blogging > cleaning.

9. I can usually parallel park like a champ, but yesterday there were a lot of people downtown and I got stage fright. It took me 3 times to do it and once I got it right, my forehead was sweaty.

10. Can all you men just cut your hair like this please? It makes me weak in the knees.zac-efron-hair-shopstriped-blogspot-com-zac-efron-652298176

2. What I’m Listening to: Oh, you know, Lana del Ray on repeat. Her song “Young and Beautiful” from The Great Gatsby has taken over my life.

3. What I’m Drinking: My friend TJ and I went to the beach yesterday and enjoyed this new-to-me beer that I’d been anxious to try: Leinenkugel Summer Shandy. I kept seeing the commercials for it on tv, and wondered if it was going to be too sweet. Nope! It’s really good. A perfectly light beer with a hint of citrus.

4. Recipes I’m Bookmarking: How amazing do these look!?!? I’m drooling. Vegan Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.

5. GIFs I’m Loving:

WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THEY NEVER EAT CHICK-FIL-A

WHEN I CAN TELL MY BEST FRIEND ISN’T LISTENING TO ME

WHEN SOMEONE TELLS ME I’LL MAKE A GOOD WIFE BECAUSE I CAN BAKE

WHEN I HEAR SOMEONE, ANYONE, SAY THE WORD “CHOCOLATE”

Have a great weekend!!

Oh heyyyy, pretty little veggies. Look at my fifth week of Gruber Farm’s CSA. There were a lot of new items this week. We got beets, lettuce, cabbage, peas, cucumbers, red potatoes, green beans, and onions.

I froze my first bag of peas, but wanted to use the second bag for a fresh, summery salad. I had the hardest time naming this recipe, and still am unsure if the one I chose is the best fit. How do you chefs decide which ingredients to highlight and what order to put them in? It’s a science, I tell you. Boding wanted me to call it “So Fresh and So Peas Peas.” I was tempted, I really was. Outkast would have been proud.

Minted Pea Salad with Strawberries and Feta

  • 1 lb. fresh peas
  • 1/2 lb. strawberries, halved and quartered
  • 3 tbsp. fresh mint, chopped
  • juice of one lemon
  • crumbled feta
  1. Boil peas in a large saucepan full of water 2-3 minutes,  or until just tender. Drain in colander and rinse with cold water.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, toss peas, strawberries, and mint. Squeeze lemon over mixture and toss again. Top with crumbled feta and serve.

This salad screams Spring, doesn’t it? Both peas and strawberries remind me of the warm weather that has finally arrived in Charleston. It was a glorious 82* today and I spent a couple hours at the pool reading. To me, anything in the mid 80s and sunny is perfect weather. I’ve got to enjoy this while I can before the real SC Summer begins. 90-100 and humid, eek!

What fruit and vegetables remind you of Spring/Summer?

What’s perfect weather to you?
