1. What I’m Reading: A while back, I read The Violets of March by Sarah Jio. I liked it, but didn’t love it. Last week I gave Sarah another shot and read her novel The Bungalow. 
From Amazon: In the summer of 1942, twenty-one-year-old Anne Calloway, newly engaged, sets off to serve in the Army Nurse Corps on the Pacific island of Bora-Bora. More exhilarated by the adventure of a lifetime than she ever was by her predictable fiancé, she is drawn to a mysterious soldier named Westry, and their friendship soon blossoms into hues as deep as the hibiscus flowers native to the island. Under the thatched roof of an abandoned beach bungalow, the two share a private world-until they witness a gruesome crime, Westry is suddenly redeployed, and the idyll vanishes into the winds of war.
Again, I liked it but didn’t love it. I found it to be flat and predictable with little to no character development. I won’t tell you not to read this, because I know a lot of people who have enjoyed it, but I do think there are much better written books to be read.
2. What I’m Eating: Last week, Clif sent me their most popular crunch bars: Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, and White Chocolate Macadamia. Of the three, I liked the chocolate chip the best. The peanut butter is a little dry and the white chocolate is on the sweeter side.
3. Recipes I’m Bookmarking: Hearty White Bean and Spinach Soup with Rosemary and Garlic.
4. What I’m Listening to: Rihanna’s “Stay” featuring Mikky Ekko is really pretty.
